Get Compensated Through A Yaz Lawsuit

The fact that there were over 12,000 Yaz lawsuit pending cases against the manufacturer of Yaz means that there is something wrong that the manufacturer must have definitely done. This is so because there is almost no possibility that so many people could be wrong. The current world is full of greedy manufacturers who want to reap quick profits.

Inspired by a desire to boost their revenues, manufacturers take short cuts in coming up with essential commodities like drugs. The resultant effect is that millions of people suffer as a result of their recklessness. The numerous side effects that result from the use of Yaz and the accompanying failure of manufacturers to sufficiently warn users of the drug is a clear case of a manufacturer who violates the rights of consumers and who should be held accountable.

Yaz Lawsuit For Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) and Heart Attacks

Studies show that persons who use Yaz have an elevated risk of contracting deep vein thrombosis and heart attcks. This is mainly because of the fact that the drug has been associated with increased levels of potassium which in turn affects the normal functioning of the heart. This also affects the clotting process of blood in that the use of the drug causes the formation of blood clots in the blood stream.

These two conditions are fatal and usually need immediate medical attention which can be costly. They may also lead to other complications sand in some instances may even lead to one being completely immobilized. They may therefore call not only for current medical expenses and future care-costs, but may also lead to loss of future earnings.

While a Yaz lawsuit may not make up for all the pain and suffering that you experience, it will get you the necessary compensation to make the burden lighter. It also sends a message to the manufacturers that the drug they manufactured is harmful and thus will go a long way in ensuring that they act responsibly in future.

Yaz Lawsuit For Bladder Complications

There are a number of bladder complications which people who use the drug are reported to experiencing. One of the most common one is the development of gallstones in the kidney. This mainly results due to the fact that the drug usually causes an increase in cholesterol levels in the human body which then crystallize forming the stones. They can be painful and may also call for surgery so as to remove them. This process is not only expensive but also exposes you to other risks.

Filing a Yaz lawsuit so as to be compensated for the resulting bladder complications is advisable. This will not only ensure that you get the best treatment possible, but will also go a long way in alleviating your condition. Your suit will also be a step towards making manufacturers to act responsibly and thus reducing the chances of potentially unsuspecting consumers suffering from the adverse effects that come with the use of such drugs.

It is imperative that you contact us immediately so as to ensure that your rights are enforced mainly because of the fact that there is a limitation on the period within which one is allowed to claim compensation. Please fill out a form on Yaz lawsuit web page here on the right hand side.

Bayer HealthCare, the manufacturer of the popular birth control pill Yaz has been served with lawsuits by Yaz lawsuit attorneys on behalf of as many as 25,000 women that have suffered Yaz side effects.
Bayer, based in Leverkusen, Germany reported sales of $1.5 billion in 2010 for Yaz and Yasmin making Yaz its second highest grossing product.

Yaz lawsuit
Yaz (then known as Yasmin) was developed by Bertex Laboratories in 2001. In 2006, Bayer took over Bertex and reintroduced the drug as Yaz. Now Yaz is the most popular and profitable birth control drug on the U. S. market. Ocella, made by Teva Pharmaceuticals, is a generic version of Yaz and may also cause the same Yaz side effects.
Yaz works by mimicking the body’s responses when a woman becomes pregnant and prevents the ovulation process. By blocking ovulation, which is the release of an egg into the fallopian tube, the egg cannot be fertilized and pregnancy cannot occur.
When taken as recommended, Yaz is 99% effective at preventing unwanted pregnancy. However, it may also have a higher risk of Yaz side effects than other forms of birth control drugs.

Yaz Side Effects

Yaz, Yasmin, and the generic version, Ocella contain drospirenone, a type of female sex hormone called a synthetic progestin not found in other birth control pills in the United States. It is alleged that taking either of these drugs may cause Yaz side effects such as:

  • strokes
  • heart attacks
  • pulmonary embolism
  • thrombosis
  • cardiac arrhythmia
  • kidney failure
  • sudden death

The Yaz side effects that have come under close scrutiny are blood clots. These Yaz side effects appear to occur at a higher rate among women that use Yaz, Yasmin or Ocella than with those women that use birth control drugs not containing drospirenone.

Blood is pumped though your body in a continuous loop by the heart. The blood is then returned to your heart by gravity and by your muscles. Blood is supposed to clot whenever a blood vessel is injured, however, these clots can become a problem when they form inappropriately. When these abnormal blood clots travel in the body, this type of Yaz side effects can cause life-threatening conditions.
A loose blood clot can become lodged inside the heart and result in a heart attack. If the blood clot lodges in the brain, it can result in a stroke. If the blood clot lodges in the pulmonary artery that supplies blood to the lungs, it can result in a pulmonary embolism (PE).

Yaz side effects Leads To Yaz Lawsuit

Bertex and later Bayer were warned by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) that the drug manufacturers were not giving the public enough information about Yaz side effects. In addition, the FDA has had issues with the marketing of Yaz.

In 2008, the FDA warned Bayer that they had made unproven claims about their product superiority and had advertised it as a treatment for acne, premenstrual syndrome, and premenstrual dysphoric disorder, some of which treatments had not been tested or sanctioned by the FDA. This came after the FDA’s Division of Drug Marketing, Advertising and Communications (DDMAC) investigated two 60-second TV ads for Yaz contraceptive, “Not Gonna Take It” and “Balloons,” “are misleading because they broaden the drug’s indication, overstate the efficacy of YAZ and minimize serious risks associated with the use of the drug.”
The DDMAC said that the ads suggest that Yaz is appropriate for treatment of acne, premenstrual dysphoric disorder and PMS. Also the agency claimed that the distracting visuals served to distract women from the serious Yaz side effects risk disclosures made during the ads.
As a result of Bayer’s false advertising, many women may have been persuaded to take Yaz and may have developed serious Yaz side effects.
According the the FDA newsletter, The Bulletin, “between the first quarter of 2004 and the third quarter of 2008, 50 women and girls who took Yaz in the United States died from medical complications.”

Yaz Side Effects Study

In a study released October, 2011, the FDA announced that women taking drospirenone which is found in Yaz, were 74% more likely to develop Yaz side effects such as blood clots as a result of taking Yaz than those women taking older hormonal contraceptives. Shortly after this study was published, the FDA’s expert panel voted that the labeling on the Yaz is inadequate and needs to include more information about the Yaz side effects such as the potential clotting risk.
